Terms of Service
Effective: August 9, 2026 · Last updated: August 9, 2026
These terms apply to the Tellshot macOS application and this website (tellshot.com), both provided by Agoraxa inc. ("we"). By downloading or using Tellshot, you agree to these terms.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Tellshot on Macs you own or control. During the beta, Tellshot is free of charge, including for use at work. A paid license is planned for version 1.0; the beta will remain usable until then, and any change will be announced in the release notes before it takes effect.
You may not redistribute modified builds of the app, sell or rent it, or remove notarization/signing and pass it off as official. Reverse engineering is not permitted except where the law expressly allows it.
Tellshot includes open-source components, used under their respective licenses. The app, the Tellshot name and logo, and this site's content remain the property of Agoraxa inc.; these terms transfer no ownership.
Beta software
Tellshot is beta software: features may change, and bugs exist. The app auto-saves your work and we treat data-loss bugs as top priority, but you should not rely on a beta as the only home for critical data. We may suspend or discontinue beta distribution or the update feed; material changes will be announced in the release notes.
If you send us feedback (bug reports, feature ideas), we may use it to improve Tellshot without obligation or compensation — that's what the beta is for, and thank you.
Your content
Screenshots, annotations, and documents you create with Tellshot are yours. They are processed and stored on your Mac only — we never receive them (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for what you capture and where you share it; features like the pre-share sensitive-info check are assistance, not a guarantee that nothing confidential slips through. Do not use Tellshot to capture or share content in ways that infringe others' rights — including privacy, confidentiality, and copyright — or violate applicable law.
Updates
The app checks for updates via Sparkle and always asks before installing. Staying on old beta builds is possible but unsupported; we may require an update for continued support of a beta version.
Disclaimer and liability
Tellshot is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app or this site. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Tellshot — which, during the free beta, is zero. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Termination
You can stop using Tellshot at any time by deleting the app; nothing remains on our side. We may terminate the license if you materially breach these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Tellshot evolves. Material changes will be announced in the release notes, with the "last updated" date above revised.
Governing law
These terms are provided in English and Japanese; if the two versions diverge, the Japanese version prevails. These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
